Does it Float?
The answer is a resounding YES!
Today I threw the diamond blade back in the jigsaw, this time at 45 degree angle. I carved a filleted rectangle around the the old sail-drive hole, and circle around the acrylic peep hole. Searching through the cut-offs pile, I pulled out a nice chunk of 1" pvc foam laminated with carbon on both sides, doubled up on the bottom. Transferring the shapes over, I cut those little jack-o-lantern lids out, primed them, piped in some goo, and pressed them home. While the initial resin was still gummy, I bagged a layer of 12oz with a 2.25" overlap onto the surrounding hull. With that, the boat should float! I don't know why that feels so monumental, but it does.
