Installing the Custom PYHI

To install the new ring on the cockpit floor, I freshened up the centerline mark with the laser level, and printed a cut template on  some regular paper.  With this I was able to mark the cutout.  I used the trim router with a 1/4" FRP bit and quickly carved out the recess for the lip of the part.  After a gluing in the ring in place, the following night I bagged 2 layers of plain weave 200gsm carbon on there, with one rotated 45 degrees.  I had to get a little creative to keep epoxy off the future mating surfaces.

Here is a quick look after rolling on 2 coats of 410 with the 105/207 combo.  Somewhere in there I added a bit more fillet fairing to the DD hump as well.
