Utensil Tray

Near the galley on the port side, there is a life off lid on the side shelves.  The plan was to build a tray to live under there to handle silverware, or other odds and ends.

Step one was to make a nice MDF mold.  This was chopped out with the CNC, then coated with West Systems to seal her up.  I used black pigment in the final coat, just as a sanding aid.  Here is a picture of the tool all waxed and ready to go.

I bagged some carbon off-cuts on there as you would expect, then added a thin PVC core to the bottom and bagged another layer.

After a quick sand, I coated again with clear hardener.  I definitely have some pinholes to chase, but overall the tray is stiff, pretty, and lightweight.
