More Prep

With the upper deck nearing completion, and being driven to try my hand at painting again, I spent a few more days buttering and sanding.  It definitely takes determination to keep at it, as there is zero fun involved.

At this point, I still needed to extract the broken U-bolt, and it anded up being pretty straightforward thankfully.

Finally, with things looking reasonably sorted, I pulled out the film deck hardware template and made small rebates at each fastener location.  My hope is that the small divots will show visibly through the paint and primer and act as indicators for positioning the Keyserts.
