U
YOU! no U! Yup.
I have my heart set on doing swinging doors, rather than drop-in hatch boards. For this to work, I needed a backstop and strong doorframe arrangement that can handle all the bumps and bruises associated with sails and gear going up and down the stairs. I am quickly learning that milling G10 is not yet my specialty. The part didn't come out perfect as I was having heat buildup problems nuking my bits. I was also having trouble with vibration causing my screws to back out from holding the G10 to the machine bed. Somehow I got it machined and taped in place on the boat. Here's some pics to tell the story.
