Preparing for Chainplates
When the old chainplate boxes came out, I was pretty medieval with the grinder. I knew that I wanted to get some carbon on the wall to spread the load out. I put a layer of Uni pointing directly at the butt of the mast, and a large patch of DB90 to try to get a good surface to build on. I peeled the paint with the grinder, and bagged the port, and then a week later, the starboard side to match.
