This Thing Ain't Coming Out
I started by bagging a couple pieces of carbon on the floor to dissipate loading. The scantling then went in using ample amounts of G-Flex, the toughened epoxy from West Systems, under the flange and up the side of the trunk. This stuff is like working with molasses, and takes a certain patience, but it's ability to absorb load and spread shock is excellent.
Once cured in place, a normal fillet of thickened 105/205 was applied to smooth the transition for two more layers of DB90 which were then bagged across the joint.
As a finishing touch, the bench was notched, aligned, and glued in place. Finally the outside of the bench was tabbed down.
Whew. Breathe.
